What is this prize?<\/h3>\n

Portugal is the winner of the 2018 Renewable Energy Trophy, a prize awarded by the Union of Renewable Energies, a French association that brings together associations and companies from around the world. The Minister of the Environment and Energy Transition, Jo\u00e3o Pedro Matos, says that: the Renewable Energies Trophy, which Portugal will receive at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, is recognition of the country’s work in this area.<\/p>\n

What is it for Portugal and what are our objectives from now on?<\/h3>\n

Since 2005, Portugal has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 22% and by 2017 has reached 54% of electricity produced from renewable sources. But the commitments made for the future contributed to this distinction – with Portugal being the first European country to commit to achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050; And by 2030, the country aims to reach 80% in electricity production using renewable sources and 35% energy efficiency in energy consumption, having advantages for the environment and creating more wealth and employment.<\/p>\n

What does it mean for us?<\/h3>\n

This goal is very important and makes our architectural office more and more proud of all the work done in this area! We believe that this is a way for us to work on a daily basis. We are aware of the importance of the architect’s work in designing sustainable buildings, as we seek, test new materials and solutions that allow us to minimize environmental impact and increase the energy sustainability of our projects.<\/p>\n
