Wood House is an architectural retreat located in Wood House is an architectural retreat located in Douro Valley. Developed with a conscious and sustainable approach, this modular wooden residence reflects a strong commitment to the principles of green architecture. The building is elevated above the ground, avoiding excavations or significant alterations to the natural topography. This solution respects the terrain and allows for the free flow of water and movement of local wildlife. The carefully selected timber façade ensures chromatic and material integration with the forested surroundings, particularly with the pine trees that define the landscape. The green roof, composed of native plant species, enhances thermal performance, supports biodiversity, and acts as a natural extension of the terrain.More than a structure placed in the landscape, Wood House appears to emerge from it. The result is a harmonious synthesis between architecture and nature.
