We contribute to transforming cities and landscapes with awareness.

MJARC Arquitetos is an architecture studio founded in 2006, with a presence in Porto and Lisbon and a practice developed for Portugal and the world. We are dedicated to architecture, interior design and landscape projects that respond to each place with sensitivity, precision and purpose.

Our work begins with a careful reading of every site, programme and client. Rather than repeating formal solutions or imposing a fixed architectural language, we seek singular responses that belong to their context and improve the way people live, work and experience space.

Projeto Douro Wood House no vale do douro, portugal, desenvolvido pela MJARC Arquitetos. Um projeto com diversos prémios internacionais desenvolvido de forma sustentavél e integrado na natureza

Architecture that belongs to its place

We believe architecture should emerge from a deep understanding of place — its landscape, light, materiality, memory and the way each space will be inhabited.

At MJARC, every project seeks to create a natural relationship between building, territory and people. The result is serene, contextual and timeless architecture, designed to create belonging, continuity and long-term value.

A process guided by listening, rigour and collaboration

Our process begins with attentive listening to the client and the site, which become the foundation for each intervention. From this reading, we develop solutions that balance architectural vision, functionality, comfort, construction feasibility and integration within the surrounding context.

We follow each project with proximity and rigour, promoting collaboration between architects, engineers, consultants, partners and clients to ensure coherence between concept, detail and execution.

Material, nature and environmental efficiency

MJARC integrates principles of environmental awareness throughout every stage of the architectural process, developing resilient, efficient solutions adapted to each context. This approach is also reflected in the reuse and regeneration of existing structures, valuing built heritage and the identity of each place.

Projects such as the transformation of the former Torre Santo António in Covilhã — now Torre Green View — and Riverside reflect this commitment to renovation, urban regeneration and the creation of new relationships between building, city and landscape.

Founders

MJARC Arquitetos is led by Maria João Andrade and Ricardo Cordeiro, co-founders of the studio and the vision behind an approach that combines architectural sensitivity, technical rigour and a conscious practice of architecture.

Their experience brings together architecture, project management and construction supervision, allowing the studio to develop integrated solutions from the initial idea to final completion.

Through a collaborative and research-oriented approach, we involve clients, partners and specialists from the earliest stages of the creative process. The result is a body of work that seeks to qualify spaces, enhance territories and contribute to a more balanced relationship between architecture, city and landscape.

National and international recognition

MJARC’s work is published and internationally recognised, having received several awards and distinctions. The studio brings together architects, designers and urban planners in a multidisciplinary and collaborative process supported by digital methodologies, ensuring more rigorous, efficient and future-ready projects.
