A MJARC desenvolveu o projeto de reabilitação e adaptação de uma habitação unifamiliar do século XX, transformando-a numa unidade hoteleira situada no centro histórico de Évora. A intervenção teve como premissa a preservação da identidade arquitetónica original, conciliando-a com as exigências funcionais de uma unidade hoteleira contemporânea.
Pautada por uma abordagem sustentável, a intervenção respeita a memória do lugar, adotando práticas conscientes no uso de materiais e na gestão eficiente do espaço.
O Cicioso é um projeto que alia modernidade, funcionalidade e sustentabilidade, resultando numa reabilitação criteriosa que se afirma como um novo marco urbano. Neste espaço, passado e presente coexistem em equilíbrio, projetando-se com harmonia para o futuro.
MJARC developed the rehabilitation and adaptation project of a 20th-century single-family house, transforming it into a hospitality unit located in the historic center of Évora. The intervention was guided by the premise of preserving the building’s original architectural identity while adapting it to the functional needs of a contemporary hotel.
With a strong focus on sustainability, the project respects the memory of the place by adopting mindful material choices and efficient space management practices.
O Cicioso is a project that merges modernity, functionality, and sustainability, resulting in a thoughtful rehabilitation that now stands as a new urban landmark. Here, past and present coexist in harmony—projecting confidently into the future.

Localizado no centro histórico de Évora, o projeto de reabilitação do @cicioso_experience_alentejo encontra-se concluído. Originalmente concebido em 1913 pelo renomeado arquiteto português Raul Lino. Este edifício, que outrora serviu como residência unifamiliar, foi cuidadosamente transformado num hotel boutique com 14 quartos, mantendo a integridade da sua estrutura original e elementos arquitetónicos distintivos. O projeto, desenvolvido pelo atelier MJARC teve o compromisso de preservar a história e identidade do edifício, associado a um desejo responsável de o reescrever. …
Located in the historic centre of Évora, the Cicioso Boutique Hotel refurbishment project is now complete. Originally designed in 1913 by renowned Portuguese architect Raul Lino. This building, which once served as a single-family residence, has been carefully transformed into a boutique hotel with 14 rooms, maintaining the integrity of its original structure and distinctive architectural elements. The project, developed by the MJARC studio, was committed to preserving the building’s history and identity,combined with a responsible desire to rewrite it.
